The second largest city in Idaho, Idaho Falls was first settled by sheep and cattle ranchers. It wasn’t until a ferry route developed along Snake River, on which the city was built, that the population of this area began to develop.
The town population grew steadily until it shrunk dramatically as railroad routes were developed and then moved. Then-called Eagle Rock was nearing obsoletion when a dam was built and the town was renamed Idaho Falls.
Since then, the population has flourished and the city is known as one of the most productive regions in the United States.
